STORY ― Until I came to paint the radiance of life

Since I was little, I never quite fit in with what was “normal” or “common sense,” and I carried a loneliness, as if I alone were standing somewhere different.
At the same time, I was strongly drawn to the story of The Little Mermaid, Sailor Moon, beautiful colors, and the world of the sea.
I think I was always finding, in colors and stories, the feelings and longings I could not explain in words.

Living on Miyako Island was a major turning point.
Surrounded by the blue sea, the island air, and the warmth of the people I met, I came to feel my inner senses and the cycles of life more deeply.

On the way to adulthood, I went through an eating disorder and depression. I kept blaming myself, and there were times when simply being alive felt painful.
But little by little, as I faced my own heart and was supported by many encounters and forms of expression, I came to feel that “in every person, there is a light that never goes out, and a beauty that is truly theirs.”

Giving birth to my daughter was a profound experience that let me feel, with my whole body, how precious life is.
Witnessing the moment a small life came into the world, a conviction took root in me: “No life that has been born deserves to be hurt.”

That is why I came to want to give visible form, through art, to the radiance of life and the possibility within each person.
For me, painting means delivering a piece like a “charm for life,” one that lets clients remember their own worth and radiance every time they look at it.

“Because I went through times when I felt sunk at the bottom of a deep sea, I came to believe that there is a light in everyone that never goes out. Through my art, I want to keep delivering that light, always.”
