For those about to lose sight of themselves, who need the energy to take one step toward the future. This piece was painted around the themes of awakening and self-trust, with the prayer that it's okay not to be okay, and that light begins from accepting yourself just as you are.
Concept & Background
People often lose sight of themselves and experience moments of sinking into darkness. But when we can rise from that deep darkness and trust ourselves again, a new step toward the future is born.
Technique, Color & Expression
I repeated a process of layering multiple colors and then scraping them away, giving the surface an expression as if light were seeping from within. Seen up close, particle-like colors seem to breathe; seen from a distance, the whole surface emerges as a soft layer of light.
Creative Intent
Everyone is loved, and their very existence is a miracle — I hope this becomes a chance for the viewer to once again trust the light within themselves.
