This piece was painted with lightness and warmth, carrying the feeling of returning to your true self and the sense of release that comes from letting go of unnecessary burdens. Deciding everything perfectly isn't the only way forward — sometimes moving ahead without a clear answer yet is also an important part of life. Everyone already holds the power to guide themselves. And being gentle with yourself is what truly gives you the strength to fly toward the future. That is the wish I entrusted to this canvas.
Concept & Background
This piece grew out of the theme of trusting the power that guides you. People are often swept up by their emotions, compare themselves to others, and carry far too heavy a load. But in truth, everyone already holds the power to guide themselves. Joy, sadness, and suffering all arise from the same place. Rather than discarding even the mismatch between our feelings and ideals and our reality, embracing and integrating it lets us move freely into the next stage of life — that is the realization I wanted to convey through this piece.
Technique, Color & Expression
I layered acrylic again and again, scattering vivid pinks, yellows, greens, and blues to create a texture that seems to glow with light. The pointillist layering of color symbolizes the many layers of emotion that resonate together deep within the heart. Overall, a palette holding both lightness and warmth visually expresses the feeling of returning to your true self and the sense of release that comes from letting go of unnecessary burdens.
Creative Intent
This piece carries a prayer for the viewer to listen once again to the voice of their own heart, and to reclaim the courage to trust themselves. Deciding everything perfectly isn't the only way forward — sometimes moving ahead without deciding is also a part of freedom. Being gentle with yourself is what gives you the strength to fly toward the future — that is the message I entrusted to this canvas.
